Speedway Motors is a family owned company which began in the early 1940's. Bruce Passmore first opened the company after working in the motor-sporting business and finding a passion in sales. He took a specific interest in two types of vehicles in particular; Volkswagens and Porsches.

In 1958 the dealership became a franchised Porsche dealer and in 1967 Speedway Motors became Canada's only vehicle dealer which sold Audi's, Porsche's and Volkswagen's under one roof. In 1975 the success of the Porsche 914 helped Speedway Motors become one of the top five Porsche dealers in Canada. Ten years later the dealership was prepared to expand and added three show rooms to support their Volkswagens, Porsches and their Audi's. In 1989 Bruce Passmore was inducted into the Victoria auto racing hall of fame for his lifetime passion and dedication to motor-sports.

Bite racing announced their new partnership with Speedway Motors in 2002 and driver Chris Souliotis won the Canadian GT championships three years in a row in a Speedway sponsored Porsche.

In 2006 Speedway motors formed a dragon boat racing team made up of staff, family and friends and in August of 2007 we proudly won our first gold medal in our division.

We are now celebrating our 54th year of service with the passion to stay on top for many years to come.
